Nursing Initiatives in Health and Community Youth Service
Building on the work of the nursing faculty at Medgar Evers College, City University of New York, EDC designed and evaluated a school-based health education and community service program for urban adolescents. Results indicate that students engaged in positive classroom and community experiences were less likely than a coomparison group to be sexually active or engage in violent behaviors.
