Evaluation of Violence Prevention Programs for High-Risk Youth: The BostonCares for Injured Youth Evaluation HHD's ongoing evaluation of a hospital-based youth violence intervention suggested the importance of community referrals and follow-up to reduce violence among adolescents treated for injuries resulting from nondomestic interpersonal violence. HHD is working with local partners to develop and evaluate a dispatcher model to link youth with these injuries who are discharged from Boston hospitals to services provided by youth-serving community-based agencies and organizations.
